I can see into time....

....or at least the fourth dimension, thanks to this sculpture created by this guy who is a mathmetician, college professor, and artist.

I won't even begin to speculate what this means, or explain any of it.

All i will tell you is, you HAVE to view this animation of the sculpture: http://www.science.psu.edu/alert/videoclips/octacube%20anim.swf
even if you don't care about it, but you like taking drugs, view it. it hurts so good.

For actual information on the sculpture, view here:

To me, it almost seems that we could visualize the fourth spatial dimension as falling into a hole, where the size of things reduce exponentially, or reversing our direction in that spatial dimension, things become larger in scale out to infinity.

Picture "falling" through this dimension from outside the galaxy, and seeing the symetry of the universe repeat with subtle variations as you get "smaller". Galaxy is like solar system is like planet and moons is like atoms etc.

As we fall inward, we'd realize that the fundamental shape of the universe as we perceive it in three dimensions manifests as a spiral base on the golden ratio. But that's just how it appears, eh? If we could see all 11 dimensions (yes, I got it right back in the BSC days, String Theory now accepts 11 spatial dimensions, remember the day you guys hunted bottles while I sat on the hill in the sandpits beaming my face off?) it would all look quite different. Who knows what the shape would be?

Galloooo, I say. My friend, I shall give you tha timbers. 5 dimensions, 6, 11, for all we know, there could be infinite dimensions. And what of the creatures people have been seeing for the last few years. I wish I could recall what they are (i shall research) but according to the urban myths and 'real' photo's, they look much like undersea creatures or jellyfish, appear somewhat invisible, and may be a lifeform that exists outside of our 3 dimensional vision. And yet now people are seeing them. Perhaps that big dog i saw ontop of Tilly, or the flashing shadow people on M/D, are yet another manifestation of the 4th dimension coming into view.
How long will it take to be able to visualise the 4th, the 5th, or all of the dimensions. Is this the shift we are headed for? will this in fact move us beyond the banality, or is it just simple pipe dreams. Yet inside we know its not.

It's not infinite dimensions. It's 11. I'm positive. The fact that I said it and then String Theory announced it a few years later confirms my gut feeling. :)

I'd believe you over almost anyone else, Murk! How scary is that?!

and please, tell us more about string theory.

I mailed you a link. It's at your yahoo account. It's wayyyy high up there on the WTF charts. Just read the part about M Theory and ignore the technical stuf and read the last paragraph of this page especially.

Maybe I'll post a longer article nite.

Oh, and there's a longer personal email there as well. Read that first.
